Prenatal Core

The most noticeable change during pregnancy is the increased belly and shift in the point of gravity, which increases force on joints and muscles, especially the spine. It is important to note that we cover a lot of ground regarding the core since this where the most anatomical changes occur. But know that an overall full body exercise program is a must!

According to ACOG, strengthening the abs and back can minimize low back pain, which occurs in a little over half of pregnancies. Core muscles are not only important in labor and delivery, but also, they are important in the pregnant woman’s changing center of gravity, postural changes and muscle imbalances.

Keeping the core muscles pliable and strong will decrease common pregnancy discomforts. Watch this video to learn more!
