When I got married in 2004, I weighed 135lbs and was healthy and in good shape. Soon after our wedding, my husband & I were expecting our first child.
During my pregnancy I was diagnosed with hypertension, had a couple of hospitalizations and was put on bedrest for a month. After our frist daughter, Isabella, was born I instantly dropped 20lbs while breast feeding. Soon after, I gained the weight back and struggled to lose any more of the baby weight. I continued to battle health concerns and was tested and diagnosed with continuing high blood pressure & hypothyroidism. I continued to feel very tired and put off losing any baby weight.
I've done several things to try and lose weight (curves, weight watchers) and as soon as I take the weight off I sabotage the program and re-gain it! I became pregnant with our second child, Luciana, in 2008 and battled even worse health problems regarding hypertension. I was hospitalized on several occasions and put on strict bed rest for 6 months. Although I didn't gain much weight during that pregnancy (despite being on bedrest) I continued to carry around all the "baby weight" plus some since my first pregnancy. Recently, I hit my all time low of depression with my weight. I just became tired of being tired and being so out of shape. I wanted to feel good about myself again.
My friend offered me her Insanity video and after trying it for 1 day I realized it was waaay beyond my current fitness level. I then stumbled across Lindsay Brin's DVD's on the Baby Steals website. Although, I missed the "steal," it lead me to the Mom's Into Fitness website where I read Lindsay's inspirational blog and watched clips of her workout videos. I was instantly encouraged by her motivation and enthusiasm about working out and being a mom. I ordered Lindsay's DVD's and I can not put them down. I love the Shred 5 Fast and Lindsay's encouraging words during the workouts. I love her witty comments such as "jab...speedbag" & "squeeze your buncakes"...I hear them in my head throughout the day as well. My energy levels have skyrocketed and I look forward to working out every day. In fact, I have so much energy that I have had trouble sleeping at night, as all I think about is my workout the next day. My results are slowly coming and I do not feel my pictures show a lot of results yet. I know I have a long way to go but the little progress here and there is helping to keep me moving.
