I’m a master at starting things with great gusto, and then petering out a few weeks later... Now I’m enjoying the compliments from people who haven’t seen me in a while.
My name is Emily, from Auckland, New Zealand, and I’m a 31 year old mother of a sweet, smiley girl, Olive … who is in fact turning one tomorrow, 10th March! I’ve been a keen Moms into Fitness “student” since getting pregnant in ’08 and went through each trimester video throughout my pregnancy. When I recovered from my C-Section (Olive was breech), I was totally keen to get back to my DVD collection, which included Bootcamp and the Core Fitness DVD. I didn’t have too much trouble losing the pregnancy weight, but it has definitely taken a lot longer to regain my pre-pregnancy body, so I purchased the Lindsay Brin DVD collection including Dance Jam & Shed 5, and when this competition came about it was just the excuse I needed to focus on ‘Operation Body Back’!
What I find interesting looking at the before and after shots – apart from the grin that seems to have grown - is the back strength I must have gained, as my shoulders look so much more relaxed. I’m actually proud to have completed the six weeks of exercise, as I’m a master at starting things with great gusto, and then petering out a few weeks later... but like many new Mums, I’ve learnt a patience that I never knew that harboured inside!
So, thank you for this chance to complete a project. My measurements have gone down, my weight only slightly – but that was never my aim - and I’m enjoying the compliments from people who haven’t seen me in a while. I’m now really concentrating on those fruit and veg with lots of water, and for the first time in a while, it’s not a drag, infact a complete joy. Above all, it’s nice to be a fit and healthy Mum !
