Since Thanksgiving, I have lost 20 pounds, and over 10 of those have come just from this 4 week challenge! I followed Lindsay’s 4-week workout schedule almost to a tee. Sometimes I swapped the days off depending on what I had going on. I’ve got to say that I feel sooo much better already. My road to better fitness and a healthy weight is pretty long, but the results I have seen over the past 4 weeks—like seeing how much better my pants fit, for example—are tremendous motivators. I know the contest is geared for moms, but I'm sending in my hubby's, too, as extra incentive for him since we're dropping pounds together. He can keep up with P90x, but he's puffing hard after 1 core session with Lindsay and is really impressed with how fast he can work up a sweat and get his heart rate up. Tonight he said now that he's tried Dance Jam once with me he'll never do it again. Ever. :-) The strangest twist after a month - I dropped pounds like ballast and Jeff apparently gained mucho muscle. Both of us are more than happy with the results!

In the summer of 2007 I went to Hawaii on family vacation in the best shape of my life. At that time it was just my husband and me. About 6 weeks after vacation, we discovered we were going to have a little one in April 2008. During my pregnancy, I gained 60 pounds. I know, ridiculous. After I had my beautiful daughter, it took forever to get the weight off. It didn't help that this new little being was sucking every piece of energy out of me so I hardly worked out.

Well, 4 weeks has flown by and I’m feeling really good about the beginning of this fitness journey. I have to say firstly that the 4 weeks did not go uninterrupted. Life happened. The flu bug hit my household for 10 days and we traveled for 4 days staying in other people houses. I did not get in as many workouts as I would have liked, but that is besides the point. This fitness routine gave my body a longing for exercise.

When I got married in 2004, I weighed 135lbs and was healthy and in good shape. Soon after our wedding, my husband & I were expecting our first child. During my pregnancy I was diagnosed with hypertension, had a couple of hospitalizations and was put on bedrest for a month. After our frist daughter, Isabella, was born I instantly dropped 20lbs while breast feeding. Soon after, I gained the weight back and struggled to lose any more of the baby weight.

I never really strengthened or conditioned some of the areas of the body affected by a pregnancy. After nineteen years of bearing children, I did not want to look pregnant anymore. My hips and thighs were a size 6 on the (catalog sizing) charts and my belly was a size 13/14. I believe many tummy tuck surgeries could be avoided with this program. I lost over 10 pounds and 3” on my waist.

For my workout regimen I teach aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, and toning at our church building 4 days a week. I read Amy's story who was in your Postnatal Boot Camp, Boot Camp 2 and Core Fitness for Moms DVDs. It sounds an awful lot like mine. People were teaching the workout at my church and they were moving and I didn't want the workouts to end so I volunteered to teach. 3 years and 2 more kids later, I'm still teaching.
