As a participant in this Prenatal and Postnatal Fitness Course, the safety of your client(s) is the responsibility of the participant.

Doctors, physical therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and midwives can spend anywhere from a semester to several years studying the pregnancy and postpartum field. Currently there is no industry standard or corrective exercise prescription for pre/post-natal conditions such as diastasis recti, pelvic floor rehabilitation, episiotomy recovery, urinary incontinence, symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and others. But these are all very real conditions that affect pre/post-natal mothers.

As fitness professionals, not physicians, the participant’s expertise does not include diagnosing, prescribing, treating injuries, rehabilitating conditions and/or injuries, or counseling clients.

All information provided does not supersede medical recommendations from the medical community. It is not intended to replace the advice or attention of medical professionals. This information is not to supersede the recommendations of your client’s physician. Exercises are for healthy singleton pregnancies, and should not be used in place of professional judgement.

This course will provide you with the invaluable, up-to-date information you need to design the most successful pre- and postnatal exercise program for your clients. It will equip you with strategies for answering her questions about her body during and after pregnancy, for creating a fitness regimen that respects her needs and optimizes her strengths, and for cheering her on through challenging moments. The prenatal section covers subjects from the influence of exercise on infertility and weight, to calorie intake and pregorexia, to positions and movements to avoid. The postnatal chapters explore matters of physiological changes after birth, nutrition and breastfeeding, and emotional recovery. And throughout the entire course, research and resources are included from the most authoritative voices in the industry so that you know where to turn when you have questions in the future.
